Who can get us past all the hate?
When Dylann Roof killed nine parishioners in a Charleston church, he let the world know that he wanted to start a “race war.” It is beginning to look as though he may get some of his wish. He may not get his “race war,” but it looks like a civil war is completely possible.
The Confederate flags and monuments are being removed in many locales due to the protestations of liberals and progressives who basically lean Democratic, and this has angered many flag and monument supporters. With free speech being throttled on some college campuses, some groups openly and defiantly calling for the killing of cops and other college groups calling for black-only classes, it is difficult to imagine how our country will weather the hate-filled storm that has engulfed us.
Perhaps there are some levelheaded leaders out there; if so, perhaps they will awaken and step forward. We need them now.
