Lawmakers slept through nuclear fiasco
“Fast and furious” best describes our state officials’ recently expressed outrage toward the failed V.C. Summer nuclear project.
Fortunately, it did not take too much to get our elected officials to emerge from their collective self-induced coma: merely billions of dollars wasted, just 14 rate hikes, only one major bankruptcy, one all-important plan missing, less than a decade of delays and only 5,000 layoffs. Their grand awaking also uncovered years of profits and record executive compensation at SCANA. We are all so glad our elected officials recovered from their sleep in time to view the total eclipse of the V.C. Summer project.
I just hope our elected officials enjoyed their decade-long slumber, because sleepless nights will likely be their norm when election season commences.
