Columbia is a beautiful mid-size city, but it lacks some landscape beautifications that other capital cities have. Mayor Steve Benjamin and the City Council members could make Columbia more physically attractive to visitors by adding street lights to I-77, I-20 and I-26. Being surrounded by three interstates is a plus, and the street lights would make them more attractive at night.

The mayor and council also could make S.C. 277 an attractive corridor to the city by adding streetlights and good landscapes adorned with Palmetto trees.
