Tuesday letters: McGill cares about needs of seniors
During the time that Yancey McGill served as lieutenant governor, he visited most if not all of the senior centers in the state in order to assess the needs of the senior centers.
One that he visited was the Senior Center of Cherokee County, located in Gaffney. I was there as vice chairman of the board of directors to welcome the lieutenant governor. One of the first things he did was to ask the seniors assembled for their noon meal if he could pray for them, and he did.
Knowing how former lieutenant governors Glenn McConnell and Mr. McGill and current Lt. Gov. Henry McMaster feel about the senior citizens of our state, I am confident that the Office on Aging is in good hands with Mr. McGill in charge.
