Now here’s a novel idea for getting things done

The Sept. 18 article “Leaders of city, county to discuss disputes” indicated the Richland County and Columbia staffs have met on many occasions to little or no avail. “Hence,” says City Councilman Howard Duvall, “the elected officials are going to get together.” Wow. Imagine that. What a novel idea. Getting together to try to work things out. No power struggles. No turf wars. Just talk. An amazing concept.

Prior to the internet, the last technology that had any effect on the way people sat and talked together was the table. I hope this works out.

On another matter, perhaps the city, county, insurance types, landlords and others should find a table and work out the TitleMax fiasco. Please. It’s been 2.0084 years.
