Democrats should try out these Trump ideas

AP

I believe Phil Noble misses the point of why the Democratic Party has lost and continues to lose (“How Democrats turn SC crises into opportunity,” Sept. 25). His point on corruption is spot on, and I have no problem with a Democratic prosecutor weeding out Republican and Democratic politicians. However, this does not change the calculus for Democratic losses.

As much as I dislike some of the outcomes, I appreciate that some Republican politicians will stand up against their party and vote their principles. Democrats have voted as a bloc for too long.

I like a strong two-party system, and if this is to survive, Democrats need bold, new ideas about reining in the national debt and the continuing expansion of socialist ideas — the ideas brought forth by President Trump. Socialism expansion is not a winning strategy, and I hope Mr. Noble recognizes this approach might reinvigorate his party.
