Have you noticed who’s in charge of all the corruption at the SC State House?
As Solicitor Davie Pascoe’s investigation continues, and news about the failed nuclear plant continues to trickle out, does it occur to our state citizens that they share responsibility for creating and maintaining our widespread culture of political corruption?
Corruption breeds when politicians have no political opposition and their positions as officeholders are safe. Simply voting Republican because Republicans boast of supporting smaller government and “lower taxes” is a surefire recipe for corruption. That Republican mantra is absolutely meaningless and simply bait for getting votes.
If our politicians knew their actions were under more severe scrutiny and their jobs really were at risk for doing a poor job, they would be less likely to engage in corrupt practices.
