Sunday letters: Water, sewer funds poorly managed
Columbia City Council has been using water and sewer revenues to fund unrelated needs and wants. Whether this is illegal or not will soon be settled.
The legal advice the council has received supports its actions. Making poor policy decisions and succumbing to fiscal temptation are not necessarily illegal. Of course, it may turn out that council’s decisions were both illegal and of questionable judgment.
In any case, poor public policy has prevailed.
