Monday letters: We need lasting road repairs
Road repair and upkeep should be effective, i.e., done right the first time to save time and dollars. Recently, part of Smallwood Road was paved for about one-third of a mile between Interstate 20 and Mallet Hill Road. Now the road is worse than before, and the repaving is disintergating after a few weeks.
Before we raise taxes and before we do repair work, an effective repair standard should be put in place. If Columbia paid for the work done on Smallwood Road, it shouldn’t have.
