Here’s how SCE&G can pay for coal tar cleanup
So, SCANA/SCE&G doesn’t want to clean up the coal tar that it had deposited in the Congaree River because it was too difficult and it could cost another $11 million ( “Failure to clean up toxic river goo lands SCE&G in legal hot water,” Nov. 15).
Another option would be to not spend the $60 million on executive golden parachutes, spend the $11 million to clean the Congaree and then rebate the remaining $49 million to ratepayers.
