Sunday letters: Signs will prevent crimes, won’t they?

I am a dangerous criminal. Recently, I was planning to go into a place of business to steal some money, maybe shoot a few people and do some other bad things if I had time.

But there was a sign on the door that said “no guns allowed.”

So, of course, I called off the whole caper. I’m sure all my criminal pals will do the same, because we wouldn’t want to get in trouble for violating the “no guns” rule.
