Thursday letters: Fast track will hurt SC like NAFTA did
We know that the likes of NAFTA cost the South Carolinians more than 24,000 jobs, and we must work to stop the fast-track trade legislation.
Fast track is an undemocratic, unaccountable and completely unacceptable way to develop economic policies that affect us all. We need to bring the process out from behind closed doors and prioritize making life better for people, instead of just making life easier for corporations. Working people have heard enough broken promises about the benefits of fast track. It’s time to stop believing the fairy tale that one more fast-track deal is going to have different results.
If you stand for more jobs and greater opportunities for America’s hardworking families, you must contact U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn at (803) 799-1100. Ask him to oppose fast track. I implore you to make that call today. The job you save may be your own.
