Another day that patriotic Americans won’t be able to forget
After the Cuban Missile Crisis (Oct. 16–28, 1962), I can remember as a kindergartener and a first grader going through the air-raid drills where we were stood out in the hallway with our hands behind our heads.
I remember Nov. 22. 1963. I was in first grade when our principle came to our classroom to announce that school was dismissed because President Kennedy had been shot. I remember walking home and seeing my mother in tears sitting in front of the TV. The only thing I could think of was to sit next to my mom, put my arm around her and say nothing.
After witnessing the betrayal of the United States by the president of The United States, I, like the majority of American patriots, will remember the events of Monday for years to come. It is time for all patriots to stand up to this president and anyone who supports him to say enough is enough. Our representatives’ future depends on it. Time to impeach.

The State publishes a cross section of the letters we receive from South Carolinians in order to provide a forum for our community and also to allow our community to get a good look at itself, for good or bad. The letters represent the views of the letter writers, not necessarily of The State.
