Letters to the Editor

By Ben Franklin’s standard, SC drivers obviously are very hard workers

Since I am a S.C. driver, it usually irritates me to hear people talk about how bad our drivers are. However, I am joining the chorus.

I’m not sure if drivers are just ignorant, not thinking or using their cell phones.

They seem to have no clue what the turn signal switch is used for, because very few of them use it.

Then there’s the rainy weather. When it is pouring down rain and their wipers are going, they have no lights on. The perpetrators usually seem to be driving dark-colored cars, which are hard to see. Maybe that is one reason there are so many wrecks when it rains.

Ben Franklin is often quoted as saying: “We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”

The State publishes a cross section of the letters we receive from South Carolinians in order to provide a forum for our community and also to allow our community to get a good look at itself, for good or bad. The letters represent the views of the letter writers, not necessarily of The State.
