Speeders out of control in I-20 construction zone
We need the help of the Highway Patrol and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department. The I-20 construction zone from U.S. 378 to Exit 51 has become the wild, wild west. Speed limits are completely ignored. People regularly drive more than 70 miles per hour when there are no lane closures.
It is already white-knuckle driving where there are Jersey barriers on both sides of you. To have cars and, worse, tractor trailers barreling past you at 70- 80 mph plus is utterly terrifying. Please do something to control the speed in this zone.
If you try to obey the posted construction speed limit, you will get run over. I have never seen such speeding in a construction zone on a major highway that has such narrow lanes. It is out of control.
