Sunday Letters: Video chickens as well as police
Should it strike me as worrisome that at the same time that there is a surge to protect the right of citizens to video record police officers on the job, there is a growing body of laws known as “ag-gag,” which criminalize the actions of citizens who make videos inside of factory farms?
Shouldn’t I be as concerned about the quality and history of the food I put into my mouth as I am about the behavior of my local cop? Why is it OK to video a person who works for the public, and not a chicken who is being sold as food to the public?
