Tuesday letters: Loosening SC gun law is asking for trouble
I’ve been reading with great concern about the House voting to loosen the concealed-gun law. Are our state representatives completely out of touch?
As for the argument that taking a course is time-consuming and costly (approximately $60) … really? Do our esteemed legislators know how expensive it is to purchase a gun, or ammunition?
I have no problem with anyone having a weapon for home protection or getting a concealed-carry permit, but completely opening this door to everyone is outrageous. Do we not have enough road rage to go around? Do we want to turn our state into the Wild West?
Yes, I am a firm believer in the Second Amendment, but please use common sense.
