Monday letters: Capitulation may be Swinney’s biggest loss
Say it ain’t so, Dabo. Say you didn’t turn down an opportunity to accept an award from the Palmetto Family Council honoring you and your charitable organization, the All In Foundation.
In so doing, it appears that Coach Swinney is rejecting the efforts by an organization that promotes traditional and rational family values to recognize him and his foundation because of pressure from people and organizations intent on destroying such values.
Such a decision does not seem to fit the Christian persona that many have come to associate with the coach. This decision may well prove the biggest loss that he will ever sustain at Clemson.
Many of us are gravely disappointed with what appears to be Dabo’s capitulation to a number of wrong-thinking and morally misguided people, at the possible expense of what we would hope to be his better judgment and courage of conviction.
