Sunday letters: We’ve got bigger issues than Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner

Our country has got to be the laughingstock of the world with all the media attention of Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner and his transition to a woman. Where have our values gone when all the serious problems we face as a nation are put on the back burner while our national media and all those Hollywood phonies pay homage to some man who desires to be a woman?

Our nation is going broke, facing riots in our cities, running a government where nothing ever gets done, and yet the biggest news is a man wanting to be a woman. What is happening to us? Why are we so consumed by a man who looks a little heavy in his new white dress? Is Vanity Fair really more important than the NSA having its hands tied and not being able to listen in on phone calls to prevent a terrorist attack?
