Thursday letters: Proud to be an A.C. Flora graduate
As a 1976 graduate of A.C. Flora High School, where I participated in clubs and AP classes, I was pleased to read the May 31 reports of “The Rise of A.C. Flora” by Sarah Ellis.
When I graduated, it was easy to see changes that would leave the school with a plethora of turbulence that undermined school unity and spirit for many years.
Over the past decade, many of my friends have told me they are proud to send their children to Flora, and the students have told me the school is demanding yet enjoyable. Therefore, it is rewarding to see — in print — that the school is moving forward academically and athletically (Chris Dearing’s report on Flora being selected The State’s high school athletics Program of the Year is excellent) with the support of Principal Richard McClure, teachers, parents and students alike.
