Monday letters: Charleston church massacre: God will bring us through this
I, along with many others, am shocked at what happened at Emanuel AME Church in Charleston during a Bible study on Wednesday. As a pastor, I immediately began praying for the family and friends of those who were slain, and for the church to hold together. The Lord will sustain them through this time of great tribulation and testing of their faith. Let us pray that God will use this to bring many together and draw us closer to Him.
Ironically, this event followed The Response event held in Charleston just four days prior. The governor invited many to come and pray for our nation. This was a great spiritual victory in showing what we stood for and seeking God’s help for our country.
Unfortunately, after every spiritual victory Satan will launch an attack. The bigger the victory, the larger the attack. He did just that. We can’t let him win. We need to stand strong together with nothing wavering, calling upon the Lord who goes before us. He will bring us through to victory, yet again.
