Monday letters: Charleston church massacre: Obama helping fuel mass shootings
After the uncalled-for violence at the Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, the president said this was the 14th time he has had to address mass murders. He also said that this does not happen in other countries. He should have added that such incidents have occurred much more frequently during his presidency.
The reason is simple. Instead of forcefully asking the African-American youth to show respect to others and exercise responsibility, like not exposing their underwear, he has chosen to create the impression that it is always the whites who are to blame. He has condoned or soft-pedaled the abuse and looting by so-called protestors over and over again. He crucified the police officer in Boston who arrested a black professor who turned out to be the homeowner, when the officer was only doing his duty to protect someone from breaking and entering a house on his beat. He has used his minions like Al Sharpton to disseminate this hatred against whites.
African-Americans of the past generations did suffer greatly at the hands of their white owners. They deserved more but did not ever get compensated for their pain and suffering. Unfortunately the current generations have been encouraged by the president to believe that they have the right to live irresponsibly: living off of government handouts, blaming the whites, bleeding them forever and having more children than they can support. The first lady has set an example of entitlement by showing no restraint in enjoying herself more than any other first lady, at the expense of the taxpayers. Her current vacation in England is a perfect example.
Unfortunately, as long as the president continues to add fuel to the fire, this hatred will to get worse.
