Wednesday letters: Leave the Confederate flag where it is

One can not erase history just because one does not like what happened. There are plenty of monuments to both sides in the Civil War. Is anyone advocating removing all of them?

Removing the flag will not stop people like Mr. Roof. I sure hope the Legislature has more sense than to go along with this knee-jerk reaction. Everyone who supports the flag should contact their legislators and urge them to leave it up. I have.
