Thursday letters: Columbia growth benefits all sectors

“Famously Hot” Columbia is on fire. Growth and quality of life are advancing rapidly. There are expansions of opportunity in real estate, business, retail, education, entrepreneurship, public and private partnership, community involvement and participation, art, entertainment, youth sports activities. We have a renewed emphasis on job creation and retention, new construction and annexation to increase the tax base. City leaders are working to increase the efficiency and quality of services. Public safety is in good hands.

We should support the University of South Carolina, City Council and administration, business leaders and developers in their enlightened approaches to growth. We are truly blessed by their vision and work to address the collective good.

No matter what income or station in life, profession, religion or political belief, we must stand with each other in seeing this city grow and prosper in all its sectors.
