The young woman who removed the Confederate battle flag from the State House grounds created more drama and brought attention to herself, rather than healing to us in South Carolina. We already face a good deal of grieving from the loss of our brothers and sisters in Christ and fellow South Carolinians. Give us time to heal and work out our differences without outside interference.

I don’t think people realize that many of us who actually live in South Carolina are waiting for proper channels for the vote to remove the Confederate battle flag: We do not need the help of outsiders unless they want to pray for South Carolina and for those who can no longer share the good life that is usually the norm to those who live here.
