Monday letters: You can remove Confederate flag, but you can’t make us love it less
You can take the Confederate flag off the capitol dome, you can remove it from the State House grounds, merchants can remove it from their shelves, but you can never remove it from my heart. That flag and the cause for which it stood will forever be an eternal flame in my soul that no governor or government can ever remove.
Two of my great-grandfathers fought for and shed their blood for that flag and the cause of Southern independence. I am proud to carry on their legacy and honor their memory at every opportunity.
Dixie forever.
