Thursday letters: Christian concert would inspire so many

Thanks to a precious and generous friend, I was treated recently to a reserved seat to see Carman, a contemporary Christian singer and evangelist. His concert was at Pastor Ken Jumper’s church, The Harvest in Lexington.

What an amazing singer and evangelist. It was the best Christian concert I have ever attended. The place was packed, and almost 100 people, young and old, responded to Carman’s altar call. It was like a Billy Graham service.

If every church in South Carolina would book Carman’s concerts, there would be a revival in South Carolina that would shake this nation. We are called to be “salt and light” to this world. If we can do that, I believe America can still be turned around and be the Christian nation our founding fathers envisioned.

God himself promises us in 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and heal their land.”

I think most of us agree that America really needs some healing now.
