Letters: Obama leading nation to Armageddon

Ever since British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain made his sorry trip in 1933 to Munich to sign a peace pact with Hitler and returned to proclaim the deal guaranteed “peace in our time,” his name has been used to describe those who are simpletons, duped by evildoers and, worse, cowardice.

The United States is not precisely Chamberlainian. He was genuinely ignorant and a pacifist when the tell-tale signs of a pending global war were clear to the likes of Winston Churchill. Our redoubtable leaders, headed by President Obama, cannot claim ignorance of the evil operating within and outside the United States. Neither can he protest a role of a pacifist when it is blatantly obvious that evil is growing in leaps and bounds and almost challenges the likes of Hitler. The rise of ISIS, the empowerment of Al-Qaeda and the soppy deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran are evidence enough that we are lead to an unimaginable Armageddon.

Our friends have lost confidence in us, and our enemies no more fear us.
