Monday letters: Confederate flag haters are full of hatred
I have a Confederate flag tattooed om right arm. It was placed there at age 17, and I’m now 82. I did not get a tattoo because of hate, racism or any other reason than I was rebelling as a teenager. To let a symbol such as the flag (or many other symbols) cause such outcry tells me that there must have been hate, racism, disbelief and a lack of good, common decency in those who choose to view the flag as such.
I taught in the local college system for ,more than 20 years and never ran across such thought from my students, most of whom were black.
