Monday letters: Flag supporter overlooks all the white opposition
In his letter of Aug. 5 (“Shame on lawmakers for removing flag”), Glen W. La Force makes some salient points. Yes, they were brave men who fought a war that could never be won, although they were traitors who were duped by the plantation owners.
But he gave himself away when he chose the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton as examples of the opposition to the battle rag; there were as many whites as blacks in opposition. I wonder what it says about him that he chose them.
