I don’t know why The State continues to print letters to the editor regarding the Confederate flag debacle. It’s over. The flag is down; time to get on with more serious issues that would take too long to list here.

People who continue to call the mainly uneducated, uninformed men fighting for the Confederacy “traitors” are being ludicrous; a traitor is one who is false to his duty, and these men were not false to their duty to the Confederacy. Also, to use the word “rag” instead of flag is only showing your ignorance and hatred regarding these men who fought, albeit for the wrong reason.

I wish you people well in your endeavors; get a life.
