Monday letters: SC Politicians should pay for abandoning Confederate flag

The Confederate flag is in my mind a historic object that represents the South. The Scottish people in the United Kingdom proudly display their flag as a badge of honor; most Southerners display the Confederate flag for the same reason.

My heritage is under attack, and I am offended. Worse than that we have politically motivated representatives who lie in public for their own gains. Rep. Jenny Horne from Summerville said on the floor of the House of Representatives that she was told she was a direct descendant of Jefferson Davis; she should be impeached and removed from office, as she has been proven not a direct descendant of Jefferson Davis.

The governor will face the quiet but unforgiving public, as a result of her actions on the flag and insulting our heritage.

To be fair and diverse, we need a month of Southern heritage, to honor what is good about Southerners and their contributions.
