Letters: Think Clinton’s bad? Look at the others
While Hillary Clinton has been advocating about building an economy for tomorrow, strengthening families, defending American values and revitalizing democracy, Republicans have been talking about e-mail. So let’s talk e-mail.
Yes, Clinton used a personal e-mail, just as Colin Powell did. Yes, a private server was used, but how secure are federal servers, considering all the hacking?. No, the information wasn’t classified at the time of receipt. Portions were classified later. No criminal inquiries, and Clinton served honorably.
Republicans claim this is a matter of trustworthiness. They want to talk about character. Fine, let’s talk character.
Let’s talk about Trey Gowdy turning a House Committee formed to investigate the loss of American lives in Benghazi into a misleading probe into Clinton.
Let’s talk about how Donald Trump refers to women as “disgusting, ugly, crude, obnoxious, dumb.” Let’s talk about Jeb Bush’s outlandish statements like “immigrants are more fertile” and women should “get their life together and find a husband.”
Let’s talk about Scott Walker comparing union protesters to ISIS; about Rand Paul’s and Chris Christie’s medieval view of vaccinations; how Ben Carson thinks the Affordable Care Act is worse than the Sept. 11 attack; how Carly Fiorina wants to blame the California water problem on environmentalists.
From the Children’s Defense Fund to advocating for women and veterans’ rights to traveling the globe, Clinton has proved a fighter, advocate and champion of everyday Americans. E-mail or no e-mail, that’s character.
