Letters: Trump supporters reject political class

In recent days, letters to The State have called supporters of Donald Trump’s candidacy trash, boobs and so forth, with one suggesting they should be deported to North Korea. Meanwhile, we have a nation in decline, rotting from the top down.

This happens unacknowledged by the media, sanctioned by the executive branch of government, aided and abetted by the legislative branch, allowed by the judicial branch, facilitated by the de facto branch — the unelected bureaucracy — and supported by an indifferent, uninformed citizenry. We have an ineffective, collusive, impotent “opposition” party whose slogan should be “No can do.”

America has problems that are nearing an insurmountable level, and the political solution from our leaders has been to pass the problems along to those who are not yet born. They do this with your permission and approval, and you are complicit so long as you continue voting for self-serving career politicians who want things the way they are.

The current political process has sown the seeds of a Donald Trump candidacy, and it probably wouldn’t matter to many supporters if he were from Mars, such is the disdain for our current leadership. So who is the boob here?
