Monday letters: Accepting adultery has created problems
Opinions such as the one offered by an associate professor of law at USC in her Aug. 30 letter, “Adultery too widespread to be punished in divorce,” are part of our problem. As I was taught as a child, what is wrong is wrong, and just because others are doing it doesn’t make it right.
Lowering the penalty for doing wrong doesn’t solve the problem. Accepting this kind of behavior has a great deal to do with many of our society’s problems.
