Anita Floyd claimed in her Sept. 21 letter that students who graduated from the “new” Columbia High School located in St. Andrews were not invited to the 100-year reunion. But this is simply not true. The event was attended by more than 900 graduates, many of whom never attended one class downtown.

One of my classmates flew all the way from Alaska to attend. How did he hear of the event from 4,000 miles away?

The event was advertised on the radio, newspaper and Facebook. Tickets were available at a cost of $40 per individual or $75 per couple. I suspect this monetary commitment had as much to do with those “new grads” not attending as anything.
