Letters: Salvation Army busy helping flood victims
As The Salvation Army continues to serve this community with your support, we want to share our progress with disaster relief efforts.
North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia have deployed 20 mobile kitchens throughout South Carolina to offer food and water as well as spiritual and emotional care to flood survivors. As of Tuesday, we have provided 38,904 meals, 37,813 drinks and 31,819 snacks. We have provided emotional and spiritual care to 791 individuals, 920 cleanup kits and 4,649 hours of employee and volunteer service.
We rely on the generosity of our community to meet needs of local people. Financial donations allow us to continue providing food, water and spiritual and emotional support to flood survivors, as we use 100 percent of disaster donations in support of disaster relief operations.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our work.
