Letters: Columbia shouldn’t charge for contaminated water

We Columbia water customers are being charged for potable water even though we did not receive it; I think the city owes us a refund for every day we were without it. This situation is the fault of City Council.

Instead of maintaining and upgrading the system, the council members stole millions of dollars from the water fund. If they had done what was needed over the years, I believe that most if not all of the water line breaks could have been avoided and their customers wouldn’t have experienced this problem.

Council must stop pilfering the water fund and return what has been stolen over the years so that the system can be fixed without a huge rate increase and everyone can get what they are paying for: potable water.
