Letters: SC courts should go after deadbeat dads
When non-custodial parents do not make court-ordered child support payments, the judge will require that they explain why; if they don’t have a valid reason, the judge can fine them or even put them in jail.
It’s good that South Carolina is attempting to enforce child support orders, but it is disgrace that the courts really don’t pursue deadbeats.
What about posting wanted pictures of deadbeats in post offices? When is South Carolina actually going to hold parents accountable by issuing subpoenas to deadbeats and arresting them if necessary? There are too many single mothers left for dead by the casual fornicator.
