Letters: Cancer screening not always enough

A recent news article featured two women who had suffered the loss of loved ones from breast cancer. I am sympathetic and empathetic to their loss.

My daughter died from lobular breast cancer, which is not easily detected from mammography, CT or MRI. It had already metastasized to her liver and intestines by the time it was discovered by genetic markers. By then, it was too late. She was 50 years old and lived about six weeks. She is survived by myself, a very loving husband, 4 children and a sister.

Cancer screening in women needs to be adjusted with this in mind.
