Monday letters: Lott, school providing village for students

I recently had the opportunity to pick up a family member from the Lewis Greenview Elementary School, and I was so impressed by what I saw that I have to share this great news.

When school is dismissed for the children who walk home, a deputy sheriff blocks off one lane of the two-lane road in front of the school and a teacher walks the children to the end of the sidewalk.

When I saw the deputy and the teacher performing their roles in protecting our children, I remembered the book Hillary Clinton wrote, It Takes A Village.

Much thanks to Leon Lott, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department and the school for protecting our children.
