Letters: Democrats created the SC of today

I almost choked on my morning coffee when I read Marie Vevik’s Nov. 9 letter, “Republicans ruining S.C.” It amazes me when some folks always point the finger at those dastardly Republicans for whatever seems to be ailing them at the moment.

Ms. Vevik must not be from South Carolina, or hasn’t lived here very long. Otherwise she would remember former Democratic Sen. John Land and his buddies who ran the Legislature and put us in this place to begin with. She thinks things are bad now; boy, she would be really ashamed of things that happened then.

Maybe one of the more tech-savvy readers can set up a GoFundMe account for Ms. Vevik. That way we can send her to Berkeley, Madison or perhaps Chapel Hill, so that she can live with other Republican haters in relative peace, since she seems to be so unhappy here.
