Recent events at the University of Missouri demonstrate the creeping anarchy that is fueled by the mainstream media and carried out by a segment of the student body that is totally ignorant of the Constitution. The fact that the “leaders” of the university resigned to quell the disturbance motivates student anarchists around the country to join their warped causes.

Social deficiencies will always exist, but they are not solved by student athletes threatening a walkout and being supported by the head coach. The president should have fired coach Gary Pinkel and dismissed the protesting players, much like President Reagan fired the 35,000 air controllers for ignoring federal law. That likely would have prevented copycat actions around the country.

Political correctness must be stopped, and political and educational leaders must step up and address these issues without abdicating their leadership positions. Leaders must lead, not give in to immature students.
