Letters: Changing travel plans aids terrorists

AP

Congratulations: The terrorists win.

Richland District 2 — and the nation — changes its travel plans in reaction to the Paris terrorists and cowers in fear (“Richland 2 postpones trips to Washington, D.C., after Paris attacks,” Nov. 19).

When will school officials find “a time with less safety concerns and uncertainty” to take these students to D.C.? Never.

It will never again be entirely safe to travel anywhere, domestically or internationally. That is the reality of the world we live in now. Changing travel plans due to the perception that there will be a better, safer time to travel is wishful thinking.

Keep traveling and learning about the world. That is one small way to help defeat those who try to intimidate our great nation.
