Letters: Trump is damaging America, GOP

onald Trump’s blatant disregard for factual accuracy, silly logic and lack of rudimentary civility would be even more entertaining if his campaign were just a waste of everyone’s time. But it is also socially corrosive. Trump is a political pariah, damaging American politics and unhelpful for the GOP, a party for which he has little prior commitment and questionable present regard.

It’s hard to see how the egotistical Mr. Trump can be other than an independent presidential candidate, a role he has publicly rejected.
