Monday letters: ‘State’ endorsed wrong candidate for Columbia Council District 2

Following a long tradition, The State once again endorsed the wrong candidate for the Columbia City Council District 2 seat, choosing the one who had to be speed-annexed into the district and who was conspicuously absent from every issue, past and present, that the district has struggled to resolve.

Your endorsement of the mayor’s candidate also managed to cast aspersions on the one qualified candidate, Rev. Ed McDowell, who has served the district with unswerving energy, commitment and integrity, for decades.

Hats off for your consistency in meeting District 2’s lowest expectations.
