So the Richland County Council wants to build a water park (“Richland County gives final OK for $20 million water park contract,” Dec. 11). I thought we already had one: Gills Creek watershed. Maybe instead of building a new one, we could fix the existing one?

It was loads of fun a few weeks ago. Fast-running, swirling water affording us kayaking and canoeing experiences. Wilderness adventures without running water and electricity. Nomads wandering the streets. And snakes.

We got national TV, radio and newspaper coverage and a tsunami of internet activity. I say let’s promote Gills Creek.
