Monday letters: Treat all shootings the same

Contrary to the Nov. 25 headline (“Man charged in 2013 Five Points slaying case”), the new charge involved a shooting in north Columbia. The article does say that he is jailed for a 2014 shooting in Five Points but gives no details. For all we know, that shooting occurred somewhere sort of near Five Points, and as is so often the case, it becomes a Five Points shooting.

I guess shootings in north Columbia aren’t as worthy as those in Five Points. Do north Columbia lives not matter as much?
