Letters: To destroy ISIS, destroy its income

AP

In many TV crime shows the good guys are told to “follow the money” in order to find the bad guys.

The same advice works in the fight against ISIS. It takes tremendous amounts of money to recruit, train, feed, house and equip the ISIS army. Finding and destroying the source of that money will take care of ISIS.

We are told that much of the money comes from the sale of oil. Bombing the facilities that produce the oil, the roads upon which the oil is transported and the tankers transporting the oil is certainly effective in slowing down the delivery of the oil to the purchasers.

But what about the purchasers? Are we going after them with the same diligence? >But what about the purchasers? Are we going after them with the same diligence? If nobody buys the oil, it doesn`t matter how much is produced.

Of course, ISIS has other sources of income. We must know what they are. Follow the money, destroy the source, and you destroy ISIS.

Maybe it`s not that simple, but it`s not all that complicated either.
