Monday letters: Clemson fans were well-behaved

On behalf of our many respectful Clemson fans everywhere, I would like to apologize to the couple who reportedly felt threatened by some Tigers at the Orange Bowl (“Some Clemson fans went too far,” Jan. 11). We were there five hours prior to kickoff and walked halfway around the stadium, through friendly fans from both sides.

My family, children and many Tiger fans were very polite to the Gamecock fan (wearing his “friends don’t let friends wear orange” shirt) and his buddies who were sitting directly in front of us cheering for Oklahoma. We never heard any defamatory remarks directed toward them.

We sincerely hope that letter writer Bob Fink’s friends do not have to endure fans like that from any teams again. That is certainly uncalled for and had to be rare that day.
